On Monday, April 27, members of the 1-130th ARB unit of the NC Army National Guard brought their readiness and commitment to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle to begin their assignment: assisting in the distribution efforts to families impacted by COVID-19.

On Friday, April 17, eight of the barbecue cooks from the Whole Hog Barbecue Series spread out in the parking lot of the Vernon Malone Center—home to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle—to set up their pits and cook up 150 pork barbecue shoulders donated by the North Carolina Pork Council and the National Pork Board.

As an essential service agency, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will continue operation under Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Greg Ford’s recent order for Wake County residents to “stay at home”. The Food Shuttle will continue its emergency response programs to feed families, children and seniors affected by COVID-19.

As information regarding COVID-19 unfolds, in efforts to adhere to CDC guidelines and protect the health of volunteers and staff, the Board of Directors of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle made the decision to suspend most volunteer activities until further notice.
