Because of you, more children will start the school day ready to learn, without the pang of hunger as a distraction. Our Back-to-School campaign reminds us that along with pencils and paper, children need a daily supply of food to take on new concepts, run on playgrounds, and socialize more successfully.
Our Community Health and Agriculture Education teams have collaborated to develop the new Food Shuttle Academy, an online learning platform with free, self-paced lessons on health, nutrition, agriculture, and more!
Our Spring Match challenge, made possible by generous funders, including SOLV Energy and the Mead Family Foundation, exceeded the $105,000 goal, raising an additional $70,000 to erase hunger!
Love, Tito’s has a heart for community gardens and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Their philanthropic Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, reconnects neighborhoods and creates community gardens and farms throughout the United States. Our hearts are in full bloom knowing that our Camden Street Garden will be the next beneficiary of Block to Block, allowing neighbors with mobility challenges to access our many activities more easily.
This Valentine’s season, we are reminded that there is so much to love at the Food Shuttle. From our neighbors to our community partners, from our donors to our dedicated volunteers; our work is not possible without every member of our community working together. We are so thankful for the Food Shuttle community that has been built over the last 35 years.
We are honored to share that on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle partnered with IBM and United Way of the Greater Triangle for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Hosted at IBM headquarters in Durham, the annual MLK Day of Service was a day where the community came together to give back to our neighbors.
We are deeply grateful to Publix Super Markets Charities for their generous $75,000 grant in support of our mission. This funding will provide essential support to both our Child Hunger and Agriculture programs, two initiatives that work together to address the pressing nutritional challenges facing families.
We’re thrilled to share that on Friday, December 20, 2024, we celebrated the graduation of our latest class from the Culinary Apprenticeship Program (CAP), a collaboration between Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina. Congratulations to all the graduates for your hard work and determination toward achieving your goals. We can’t wait to see the impact you will make in the culinary world and beyond.

Their contribution will help fund our Agriculture Education workshops, empowering organizations across Eastern North Carolina to create their own Gardens for Everyone programs.
