Our Back-to-School campaign reminds us that along with pencils and paper, children need a daily supply of food to take on new concepts, run on playgrounds, and socialize more successfully.
Our Community Health and Agriculture Education teams have collaborated to develop the new Food Shuttle Academy, an online learning platform with free, self-paced lessons on health, nutrition, agriculture, and more!
Our Spring Match challenge, made possible by generous funders, including SOLV Energy and the Mead Family Foundation, exceeded the $105,000 goal, raising an additional $70,000 to erase hunger!
Love, Tito’s has a heart for community gardens and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Their philanthropic Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, reconnects neighborhoods and creates community gardens and farms throughout the United States. Our hearts are in full bloom knowing that our Camden Street Garden will be the next beneficiary of Block to Block, allowing neighbors with mobility challenges to access our many activities more easily.
This summer, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will ensure families are better prepared to deal with the impact of what could be an active storm season through the distribution of 1,000 Emergency Preparedness Kits. On June 18, volunteers from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC and Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation packed emergency kits that will be distributed alongside meals served by The Spinning Plate food truck this summer.
The Spinning Plate – Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s state-of-the-art mobile kitchen – is hitting the road! Powered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) and the Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation, The Spinning Plate serves up warm, wholesome meals directly to communities facing hunger across central North Carolina.
IFFS provides ongoing assistance to individuals, families and nonprofits across the Triangle, but we also have a responsibility to provide disaster relief to communities affected by natural disasters such as hurricanes, flooding and tornadoes. Hurricane Matthew relief will be a long-term commitment as communities rebuild.

Raleigh, N.C. - Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is distributing free, healthy and nutritious food through a mobile market to people impacted by Hurricane Irene in Edgecombe & Nash Counties. People impacted should come on Wednesday, September 7, at 3:00 PM to Heritage Park located at 122 /258 Highway North (towards Scotlandneck, NC) in Princeville, NC.
"Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is providing canned/dry goods and ready-to-consume produce," said Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Executive Director Jill Staton Bullard. "This is part of our response to the needs of those affected by Hurricane Irene in our seven-county service area. We are always ready and committed to respond to the food needs of people when there is a natural disaster."
Sister agency Red Cross will be passing out cleaning supplies to senior citizens. Sarah Lee, Harris Teeter, Eastern Carolina Organics and other donors are helping Inter-Faith Food Shuttle distribute healthy, nutritious food to people impacted by Hurricane Irene. On August 30th in Rocky Mount, NC, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle served 880 people from 265 households by distributing 1,500 deli sandwiches and 13,083 pounds of food to hurricane victims.

“Rise Up Raleigh” will feature concerts from 11 terrific bands at the city amphitheater as well as street performers and vendors along the blocks leading to and from the facility at Lenoir and Cabarrus streets. The charities that will receive the proceeds from the concert are the Salvation Army of Wake County, Centro International de Raleigh, the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and Help hands Mission. The United Way of the Greater Triangle is processing the donations and is not charging an administrative fee for doing so. Donations to the concert that will begin at 5 p.m. and rock to 11 p.m. will be accepted at the gate. Raleigh, NC - Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) reports on impact of Emergency Relief to devastated neighborhoods a month after tornadoes hit the Triangle. In the first week after tornadoes hit our state, IFFS:
IFFS distributed an average of ten tons of emergency food each day to people impacted by the tornadoes and served hot meals where the tornadoes hit hardest. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle worked with the City of Raleigh, Red Cross and NC Baptist Men to provide them with food and supplement their efforts in the Triangle. In addition to our immediate emergency efforts, IFFS held free mobile markets in the Stony Brook neighborhood and Four Oaks community. We also distributed directly to families more than 1000 food boxes. Despite the fact that Inter-Faith Food Shuttle did not have power itself days after the tornadoes, IFFS staff and volunteers meet the emergency needs and continued delivering our planned services and distribution.
“Our community came together to help address the emergency. Companies and organizations called wanting to donate food and volunteers just showed up at our doors and asked what they could do to help. Food Shuttle put them to work and distributed the food to people in need,” said Terri Hutter, COO Food Service & Job Training for Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
The need continues and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is committed to continue to help families impacted by the tornadoes by increasing the food collected for and distributed to our 212 partner programs and agencies (soup kitchens, shelters, pantries, etc), conducting free mobile markets and delivering food boxes. We are working closely with our distribution partners in areas hardest hit to provide much needed food.

This Saturday in Four Oaks, NC, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) is providing free food to people in need. IFFS is bringing one of its refridgerated trucks full of healthy, nutritious food to a neighborhood hit hard by last week's tornadoes. Anyone impacted by the storms may come and "shop" for food. All of the food is free. Free Easter baskets will also be given to families with children. The market will be set up in front of the Dollar General located at 507 E Wellons Street. The event starts at 3pm.
On April 21th IFFS served more than 700 hot meals and 800 hot meals on Friday (April 22) night. This weekend, IFFS will serve more than 1,000 hot meals on Saturday (April 23) and another 1,000 on Sunday (April 24).
