Inter-Faith Food Shuttle (IFFS) Feeding Edgecombe and Nash County Residents Impacted by Hurricane Irene on Wednesday, September 7th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Sep 02, 2011—RALEIGH, NC

Raleigh, N.C. - Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is distributing free, healthy and nutritious food through a mobile market to people impacted by Hurricane Irene in Edgecombe & Nash Counties. People impacted should come on Wednesday, September 7, at 3:00 PM to Heritage Park located at 122 /258 Highway North (towards Scotlandneck, NC) in Princeville, NC.

"Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is providing canned/dry goods and ready-to-consume produce," said Inter-Faith Food Shuttle Executive Director Jill Staton Bullard. "This is part of our response to the needs of those affected by Hurricane Irene in our seven-county service area. We are always ready and committed to respond to the food needs of people when there is a natural disaster."

Sister agency Red Cross will be passing out cleaning supplies to senior citizens. Sarah Lee, Harris Teeter, Eastern Carolina Organics and other donors are helping Inter-Faith Food Shuttle distribute healthy, nutritious food to people impacted by Hurricane Irene. On August 30th in Rocky Mount, NC, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle served 880 people from 265 households by distributing 1,500 deli sandwiches and 13,083 pounds of food to hurricane victims.
