It is wonderful to see the roll out of the COVID-19 vaccine as it becomes available to each of you. Maybe you are looking forward to expanding your travel or simply embracing your loved ones again. But, as the world continues to return to some sense of normalcy, there is still much work to do so that families in need can put a warm, nutritious meal on the table.
At the Food Shuttle, our focus remains on the unseen devastation that still faces many of our community members. Unlike the hurricanes we have witnessed in the past, the effects of this disaster will be here for years to come. Long-term, strategic partnerships will be critical in protecting many of our communities from falling even further behind.
With you beside us, the Food Shuttle leads in thinking ahead for this critical fight against food insecurity. As donors, local businesses, foundations, and civic groups, you have enabled us to continue our mission throughout the pandemic. It is your important investments that are providing meals, teaching nutrition education, empowering communities to grow their own food and take steps towards self-sufficiency. Each of these has immeasurable outcomes.
