Our Community Health and Agriculture Education teams have collaborated to develop the new Food Shuttle Academy, an online learning platform with free, self-paced lessons on health, nutrition, agriculture, and more!
Our Spring Match challenge, made possible by generous funders, including SOLV Energy and the Mead Family Foundation, exceeded the $105,000 goal, raising an additional $70,000 to erase hunger!
Love, Tito’s has a heart for community gardens and increasing access to fresh, healthy foods. Their philanthropic Love, Tito’s Block to Block program, reconnects neighborhoods and creates community gardens and farms throughout the United States. Our hearts are in full bloom knowing that our Camden Street Garden will be the next beneficiary of Block to Block, allowing neighbors with mobility challenges to access our many activities more easily.
As an essential service agency, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle will continue operation under Wake County Board of Commissioners Chair Greg Ford’s recent order for Wake County residents to “stay at home”. The Food Shuttle will continue its emergency response programs to feed families, children and seniors affected by COVID-19.
First Horizon Bank has made a generous and timely donation of $25,000 from their Foundation to Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. This grant will enable the Food Shuttle to continue developing alternative ways to feed families, children and seniors in light of the current situation unfolding due to COVID-19.
In the last few days, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has created a more structured plan to serve partners in our seven-county service area. In partnership with multiple community partners, government agencies, and faith-based organizations, the phrase “it takes a village” truly came to life.
