#GivingTuesday Raises $45,900 in One-Day Total Fundraising

We asked and you answered! Tuesday, November 29 was #GivingTuesday, and Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s supporters marked the occasion by digging deep and giving generously in support of efforts to feed, teach, grow, and cultivate an end to hunger in our community. The total raised in one-day giving amounted to $45,958.

#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. #GivingTuesday is now an independent nonprofit and a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. #GivingTuesday is held each year on the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Food Shuttle approached fundraising for #GivingTuesday with a strictly digital campaign, asking the question, “What does the face of hunger look like?” In recent years, the face of hunger has changed, with many of our neighbors seeking assistance for the very first time. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle has risen to meet the growing need for hunger relief, amid increased operating costs, which include expanding costs for food and fuel.

“We are so appreciative of this show of community support. New donors and returning donors, corporate supporters and board members, everyone has demonstrated such commitment to sharing our vision of a hunger free community. We cannot thank you enough for standing with us as the face of hope for our neighbors,” said L. Ron Pringle, President and CEO of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.
