The 2018 Mix 101.5 WRAL-TV #BackPackBuddies Mediathon was a huge success! We raised more than $198,000 for our child hunger programs and collected two tons of food from area Food Lions.
We had more than 1,000 people call in or go online, donating anywhere from $5 to $2,500...each and every donation helped us reach our goal! We would like to send a special thank you to Food Lion, for hosting us and the MIX 101.5 crew as our location sponsor. Also, Principal Financial Group, Crossroads Ford, Allscripts, Duke Raleigh Hospital, Capital Bank, Capital Oaks Retirement Resort, Leith Cars, Lenovo, Moore & Van Allen Law Firm, Red Hat, Sysco, and WakeMed for contributing and being part of Mediathon.
This day happens because of countless hours of hard work from the amazing people at WRAL and MIX 101.5 who put together the day and prioritize being part of this community. It's one of our favorite days of the year, and we can't wait til next!
