35 Years of Impact: Food Shuttle Fest Brings our Community Together

Last weekend, we hosted the first ever Food Shuttle Fest at our farm – and it was a huge success! Thanks to support from our volunteers, staff, neighbors, partners and donors, we had the joy of gathering as a community to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle and explore new ways to make an impact in our community.

Food Shuttle Fest offered fun for the whole family. From pumpkin painting to face painting to potato sack racing and more, the laughter and joy at the Fest was infectious. Guests enjoyed samples from the fall menu at the Spinning Plate Food Truck, engaged in informative discussions with staff about the impact of the Food Shuttle’s various programs, and connected in community with each other.

When planning our inaugural Food Shuttle Fest, a key goal was to spread awareness about the vast array of programs we offer. We want to ensure that the critical support we provide to our seven-county service area, along with the people that make it all possible, are recognizable to our neighbors and partners. While any given person many only be familiar with one of our essential programs – such as food recovery and distribution, BackPack Buddies, or agricultural education – ALL of our programs have shaped the story and impact of the Food Shuttle these past 35 years.

During this time of critical need, we were overwhelmed by the support for our Fund Drive and Supply Drive for Hurricane Helene relief at the Fest. Our community generously donated essential cleaning and hygiene supplies, which will be distributed to our neighbors affected by the storm across the state. We are continuously looking for new ways to support those impacted by the devastating hurricane, and we thank everyone that donated their supplies or funds to this cause. To those who are interested, we are still accepting supply donations, and our Fund Drive is ongoing. Click here for more information.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our staff and volunteers who made this event possible. Their support created a day full of joy for our guests– THANK YOU! We also extend our gratitude to our Food Shuttle Fest partners Table Raleigh, Budda Bee Apiary and Author Frances Marie for offering entertainment and educational resources to our guests at the Fest. And to our sponsors – Smile Box Photo Booth, The Home Depot Garner, Nothing Bundt Cakes Raleigh, Countryside Nursery, and Bridgers Coal and Farm Supply INC – your support with decorations, supplies and activities made this event possible. We are truly grateful for your contributions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Food Shuttle Fest! See below a few photo highlights from the event.
