Giving Tuesday: Feeding Neighbors, Nourishing Futures

At the Food Shuttle, we seek to end hunger, which includes addressing the root causes of poverty that drive individuals to pantry doors. We want to do more than feed hungry neighbors; we want to nourish their dreams for the future and free them from the perpetual and exhausting pursuit of food.

Give Today to Mobilize the Movement

The holidays are a time for loved ones to come together and share festive meals. For many, it’s a time of impossible choices made worse by the additional pressures of the season. In North Carolina, over 1.2 million face hunger routinely. Most troubling, 1 in 6 are children. Let’s join hands across America to help end hunger.

Because when people are fed, futures are nourished.

We FEED, TEACH, and GROW food to address today’s needs while looking at deeper systemic issues. We collaborate to serve our neighbors at their point of need through community-centered solutions. Every action we take is in collaboration with the community and carried out by many volunteers and over 200 community partners.

We FEED through programs like BackPack Buddies and Grocery Bags for Seniors, delivering food directly into the hands of grateful recipients. We extend the reach deep into communities through mobile markets and community pantries - none of which would be possible without your support.

We TEACH self-sufficiency skills and empower our neighbors to meet their food needs. Our Agricultural, Community, and Culinary Apprenticeship Programs empower neighbors and students with the skills to get jobs, shop efficiently, cook smart, and grow produce at home.

We GROW fresh produce at the Food Shuttle Farm and our Learning Gardens to distribute to our neighbors. Our 14-acre farm , and our two Learning Gardens create intimate spaces where nearby neighbors can have a designated garden bed to cultivate and harvest.
