Governor Perdue to Join Plant a Row for the Hungry Campaign

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Apr 23, 2010—RALEIGH, NC

Raleigh- Gov. Perdue will plant rows of beans, corn, cucumbers and more at the Executive Mansion for the “Plant a Row for the Hungry” Campaign. Plant a Row (PAR) is a national campaign to encourage all gardeners to grow a little extra produce to donate to the hungry and homeless.

“Local foods are an important part of holistic hunger-relief. We are thrilled to have Gov. Perdue join the campaign and Plant A Row for the Hungry!” said Jill Staton Bullard, Co-founder and Executive Director of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

This season, Logan Trading Co. has given more incentive to Plant A Row for the Hungry. Every fourth donation made at Logan Trading Company earns a free gift for the donor. Gifts include items such as seeds and fertilizer, which will help continue the growth and donation of fresh fruits and vegetables.
