THE HERALD SUN - The United Way of the Greater Triangle held its annual “Day of Action” Wednesday morning, assembling 1,500 weekend meal and reading kits for Durham area students, all in support of Inter-Faith Food Shuttle.

NEWS & OBSERVER - For many people, access to healthy food is never an issue. It’s there in the grocery store down the street, and it’s within a family’s budget.  But that’s not true for everyone. Some neighborhoods lack stores with healthy options, and some people struggle to afford anything but cheap, processed foods.  Meredith Brown, a 17-year-old junior at Broughton High School, wants to change that.

How can we even begin to say “thank you” to the people who do so much? ach April during National Volunteer Week, we are grateful to take time to recognize the amazing power of our volunteer force. This year, we tried to really do it up right, with activities throughout the week, including Open Houses at all of the Ag locations, breakfast & lunch provided by Catering With a Cause, and a host of volunteer awards!
